Ariella's classmate Nava Schweig is celebrating becoming a bat mitzvah at Congregaiton Beth Israel in Berkeley on June 8th. As that is a Rosh Hodesh her family has asked that Sophia read the maftir aliyah (part of the regular Rosh Hodesh reading).
