Using Rosh Hodesh to frame Sophia’s transition into this new stage in life we are going to recognize the phases of this transition at the beginning of each month on the Hebrew calendar from Adar 5773 (February 10, 2013) through Adar I 5774 (February 1, 2014). The details are still being worked out but here’s the basic outline:
- Sophia leading some elements of morning services/torah reading at school (women only) weekday Rosh Hodesh when school is in session.
- Sophia leading some elements of morning services/torah reading at synagogue on Rosh Hodesh when school is not in session.
- 3 occasions to join us for social action projects (6/9/13 & 11/3/13 & 1/2/14) following morning services at synagogue (if you want, you can join us for either element or both as you prefer),
- Sophia leading Hallel, Torah service, reading maftir and haftarah and giving the drash on Shabbat morning service at Netivot Shalom 10/5/13.
- Family trip to Israel (dates TBD).
